President  – Dathan Beasley

Dathan is a Director at Turner & Townsend and has 24 years experience in engineering, project controls, program management in mining and metals, oil and gas, industry and manufacturing, power generation and distribution, infrastructure, high tech and real estate.  Career highlights include mega-projects across 11 different countries for both the client and the prime contractor.

Prior to relocating to the US, Dathan was the Project Controls Senior Management for Emirates Global Aluminium Strategic Projects in Dubai. In this role, he oversaw a large program team comprising project controls managers, risk managers, cost and planning managers, cost engineers, planners, estimators and accountants. Dathan was formulating and approving program and project controls execution strategies, implementing processes & procedures and providing governance for all capital projects with respect to project controls and risk for the global Capital Program PMO.

Long time supporter of AACE in multiple countries, now settled in Houston with his family, Dathan is excited to have an opportunity to be more involved in the Houston Gulf Coast Section.

 

Vice President  – Jeannine McMasters

Jeannine is Project Controls Lead at BHP.  Over twenty years of experience in financial, project management, organizational development, planning and analysis. Additional experience includes staff development and strengthening the level of internal controls to enhance: budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost controls, process improvement, project execution and overall performance of a business unit. Experiences and competencies:  Strategic Planning, Budget & Forecasting, GAAP & FERC Financial Reporting, Project Controls, Risk Management , System Training, Contract Administration and Business Process Improvement.

 

Treasurer – Shane Butt

Shane Butt has been actively involved with AACE since moving to Houston in 2012. Shane is the Vice President Enterprise Systems at Omega Project Solutions and also the product manager for PIMS Contract Management. Prior to transferring to the US, Shane ran Omega’s operations in Australia.

Shane is looking to be even more involved with AACE, especially within the Houston Gulf Coast Section.

Shane holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Western Australia in addition to that, he has been involved in the software development business for over 30 years. At Omega, Shane is responsible for the PIMS Software Suite.

 

 

 

Secretary – Carlos Chaidez

Carlos is a Project Controls Professional at AECOM.  Senior Level Multicultural Project Management Professional with 30 years of International experience in the, Oil and gas, Plants and Industrial markets such as Refining, Automotive, Chemical, Metallurgic, Pulp and Paper, Food, and Aerospace, professional focused to Engineering Procurement and Construction Management of Greenfield facilities. Overseas experience in: Mexico, Brazil, Germany and Russia.

 

 

Past President – Cesar Ramos

Cesar Ramos is owner of Advanced Planning Analytics and provide services & training as a consultant.  He is an Oracle Gold Partner participates in P6 & Risk Training & Consulting.  He has 20+years of experience in cost control, planning techniques and magnitude of estimation of refinery, gas processing, upstream and petrochemical for EPC companies have made him an expert in his field.  Career experience spent in the industry of Oil & Gas.  Beginning from construction, then worked into engineering and front end engineering of Onshore, Offshore & Subsea work. 20 years in Project Controls responsibilities covered Planning/Scheduling, Risk Analysis, Progress Measurement, Earned Value, Cost Control, Procurement, and Estimating.  He dedicated his career pursuing the expert level knowledge of advanced Planning/Scheduling methodologies & the future of Earned Value.

He also has expertise in many areas of Project Controls: Project management, Magnitude of Estimation, Scheduling (Primavera P6/MS Projects), Forensic Planning Analysis, Risk Analysis, Acumen Fuse/Risk, AutoCAD, Payroll, Cost Controlling, Financial Reporting, Purchasing, Inventory, Equipment Pricing, and industrial knowledge. As a way to further diversify his already impressive skill set, he has recently begun to develop mastery in forensic planning & consultant services for delay claims.​​

 

 

Director – Heath Whitaker

Heath is a manager at Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory focusing on capital projects. He is a project controls specialist concentrating on project execution and sustaining capital across global project portfolios. Previously he worked in asset services for both owners and EPC firms, respectively. Heath received an MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, a BBA in Management from Texas Tech University, and is currently working towards the Certified Cost Professional (CCP) designation. He has been a member of AACE International since 2015.

Director – Carole Venters, CCP, EVP

Carole Venters is a Project Controls Manager at Jacobs Engineering in Houston. She has 30 years of experience in various roles relating to Project Controls and holds both CCP (Certified Cost Professional) and EVP (Earned Value Professional) certifications from AACE International. She has worked for several major EPC firms on projects related to Oil & Gas (both Upstream and Downstream), Power Plants, Mining & Metals, and Food & Beverage. Along with in-house Cost Management, Carole’s experience includes field/site work during her assignments at the Coors Brewery and the Suncor Refinery. She has contributed to and assisted in writing system specifications for Jacob’s current Project Controls software and spent two years traveling to various locations in the US and Europe performing on-site training for Users and Superusers. Carole feels her best asset is the ability to see both the “trees as well as the forest” when it comes to project controls; seeing both the details and how they fit into the bigger picture allows her to analyze and track the details while reporting and communicating the big picture results to project management.

Director – Matthew C. Baker, CCP

Matt Baker works for Chevron’s Project Resource Company Business Unit as the Planning and Scheduling Team Lead for the GOMBU – Jack / St. Malo (JSM) Stage 4 Project. His key roles are leading all planning and scheduling process requirements and deliverables for the JSM Stage 4 project team, managing the work of two area planners, and serving as the PLT focal point for all schedule reporting and analysis activities.

Matt recently transitioned from the SASBU – Sanha Lean Gas Connection (SLGC) Project, where he managed all planning and scheduling process requirements and deliverables for the SLGC project team, serving as the focal point for schedule assurance activities, and assisting the CEPS team with the development and maintenance of various project controls deliverables.

Prior to his time on SLGC, Matt worked for the GOMBU – Jack / St. Malo Project Portfolio (JSM), where he served as a CE Advisor, leading the coordination of project team communications and reporting requirements for the leadership team, decision review boards, corporate, and external co-owners. He led all stakeholder alignment planning activities and contributed to phase gate readiness by assisting the team with the development and maintenance of various cost engineering deliverables.

Prior to JSM, Matt worked as a CE Advisor for Chevron Pipeline Company, where he managed the cost and scheduling functions on a portfolio of onshore pipeline and facility projects. Prior to his owner company experience, he managed several project controls functions for an industrial construction contractor on downstream capital projects and turnarounds.

He is an AACE International® Certified Cost Professional (CCP) and has actively contributed to the organization through his published technical papers, presentations, and his service to the AACE® Houston Gulf Coast Section as a President and member of the Board of Directors. He holds a Master’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Houston, where he frequently speaks to current students about the career opportunities of Cost Engineering. He currently lives in Humble, TX with his wife and two young children.

 

Sami Jarudi

 

Director – Sami Jaroudi, CCP

Sami Jaroudi has over 20+ years of experience in Project Controls Management, Systems, Processes and Applications with major industrial capital projects for owners, contractors, government agencies and in the private sector. In his career, he has worked as a field engineer, cost engineer, scheduler, project engineer, project controls manager, and a Cost System administrator of Project Controls for major EPC firms. Projects include Power Plants, Waste to Energy Processing Facilities, Chemical Plants, FPSO, Drilling Platforms, Mining & Minerals, NASA International Space Station, including an engagement at a defense contractor in the UK – currently Project Services Leader – Systems and Tools  at FHR a KOCH Industries Company.  https://www.kochind.com/

 

 

Director – Jesus Schuldes

Jesus Schuldes is a Managing Consultant with Spire Consulting Group, LLC and has more than 10 years of experience in both the public and private sectors of the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. He has worked as a project engineer providing 3rd party quality assurance services on behalf of USACE for the New Orleans infrastructure improvement program following Hurricane Katrina as well as a field engineer for a general contractor handling commercial construction projects. As a consultant, Mr. Schuldes provides project planning and constructability assessments, schedule development and management, change order assessment, time impact analyses and request for equitable adjustment preparation. As an expert witness, Mr. Schuldes provides litigation support and testimony on construction-related claims involving schedule delay, disruption impacts and quantification of damages. Mr. Schuldes has been a member of AACE International since 2012 and is certified as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).

 

Director – Junior Abraham

Junior is a Construction Professional with more than ten (10) years of valuable experience and employment history within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries including EPC phased projects. Multi-faceted, energetic, loyal, and ambitious individual with a substantial record of success in performing construction oversight and quality assurance in compliance with all specifications.

 

 

Director – Dinah Sylvester

Dinah is a seasoned Project Management Professional with a specialization in Time Management (Scheduling), and Risk Management. I have a passion for taking on mega projects to not only exceed time constraints, but to bring them to successful closure under budget for added value to the organization. My reputation for working seamlessly with project management, and cross-function teams to inspire them in working with me in developing, baselining, monitoring, and updating an integrated project plan, has carried with me throughout my career. Experience stems across multiple industries including: oil and gas, refinery, energy, utilities, LNG, nuclear, electrical, maintenance, construction, and turnaround / outage projects.
