Progressive Global Energy is recruiting for a Cost Estimator for a large-independent refining and manufacturing company for one of their refineries in Corpus Christi, Texas. We are looking to hire a cost estimator to provide cost analysis services. The Cost Estimator will be required to consult with refinery clients on site, collect and analyze data, and provide accurate estimates of project costs including labor, production time, and materials.
This is an 8 month contract scheduled to last through the end of this year, and has high potential to extend longer based on the amount of work coming in. We are seeking candidates local to Corpus Christi, TX to work a hybrid schedule with a mix of working from home and working in the refinery offices. The schedule will be a 9/80 meaning the Cost Estimator will work 9 hour days and get every other Friday off. We offer competitive hourly rates with overtime at time and half and full benefits to our contract employees (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.). We are open to any level of experience.
Skillset:
- Proven work experience as a cost estimator, or cost background
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced analytical skills
- Proficient with computer estimation software
- Good project management skills
- Knowledge of Tanks is preferred
- Evaluation estimates
- ASPEN is huge plus
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with clients to discuss the scope and scale of the projects
- Working in the refinery to gather information on materials, labor, and other factors
- Collaborating with the team consisting of engineers, contractors, and project managers
- Identifying and quantifying cost factors involved in the projects
- Using computer software to calculate cost estimates
- Preparing and presenting cost reports
- Reviewing expenditure statements during the project
